How To Streamline Your Post Workout Routine

If you’re like me, you like to workout midday (on your lunch break perhaps) which limits the amount of time you have to spend on your post workout beauty routine! I am a relative minimalist, but I like to feel refreshed after a good workout, especially since I tend to workout right before I teach my evening classes to save myself a little time. Today I am giving you the top three tips that help me streamline my post workout routine, and I hope you gather some useful inspiration.

//Have a bag of travel sized essentials

Here is my list of gym bag essentials:

  • Body wash
  • Shaving Cream
  • Razor
  • Face wash or face wipes
  • Dry Shampoo
  • BB cream
  • Concealer
  • Cream blush
  • One shimmery eye shadow
  • Mascara

Those are all the things I will take with me to the gym. For me, and perhaps any other minimalist out there, these items are plenty to get you through the rest of your day. I love travel sized items, and I just replenish whenever I need to. Sometimes I keep an extra set on hand in my car too. 🙂

//Quick & simple streamlined shower

Challenge yourself to be in and out of the shower in five minutes tops! I usually clip my hair up in a loose bun and just do a body rinse. If I need to shave I will, and I definitely recommend you invest in a travel size towel that is made of microfiber to dry quickly. When you are tossing your towel into your bag after your workout, the worst thing imaginable is to get a moldy smell on all of your clothes!

If you absolutely need to wash your hair, figure out what steps you can take to make that simple. Maybe you can use a shampoo/conditioner combo. I don’t usually wash my hair at the gym but always keep shampoo and conditioner on hand in case. A dry shampoo is also my best friend! I cannot get ready without it!

//Master the five minute face

Here are the steps I take for a 5 minute face!

  • Wash/moisturize face
  • BB cream
  • Corrector or concealer under eyes
  • Cream blush
  • One Shimmery eye shadow across lids
  • Mascara

If you wish to add more steps here, by all means do! This is in no way an exhaustive list, just a few tips I have picked up on the way to streamline my post workout routine.

  • I do not shower at the gym anymore. I have this horrible tendency of getting very sensitive feet and after dealing with athlete’s foot last year, I’m done.
    Besides, I am so slowly showering. 🙁 It is ridiculous.

    Shower sandals are important and I forgot to mention that in my post! I love long showers too but they are a luxury for me lol!
