Awesome Arms Workout!

Happy Hump Day!

I apologize for having been MIA recently. I am studying for my full STOTT PilatesĀ® Level 1 Certification. The certification requires a written exam and then a 2 hour practical exam! For the practical exam, I get assigned a “body” that I don’t get to know in advance, then from memory I have to design a full program for this person on all the Pilates equipment which includes Mat, Reformer, Cadillac, Chair, Spine Corrector, Ladder Barrel and Arc Barrel! I am confident in my skills as I have been instructing for over a year now, but it still terrifies me and I like to be fully prepared for tests so I may be over-studying just a bit!

These are all the different pieces of torture I get tested on. Oops I didn’t mean torture…

Awesome Arms

Alright then, moving onto todays workout. It’s a simple workout for your arms that you can do at home if you have small weights or water bottles even.

awesome armsI wanted to include a description of the Up Up Down Down seen above, so here you go:

*Up Up Down Down – this is done from a plank position on your elbows. You start on your elbows then push yourself up onto your hands while remaining in the plank {done one arm at a time}. Then, lower yourself back to your elbows one arm at a time.

Hopefully you try and enjoy this workout. It may be a bit challenging but as you build up strength and muscle endurance the exercises will become easier with practice. If you have any questions about form for any move, you can check out YouTube where you will find tons of examples of what each move should look like. Eventually, my goal with this blog is to provide you with a library of Pilates workouts you can do from home. Until next time friends, have a great week.
